Bears hoping to “stretch” a stagnent offense

The Chicago Bears have to improve upon last season’s league worst 4.65 yard per first down play.  Quarterback Jay Cutler has been sacked more than any other quarterback in the league per game (2.82)  and last season’s starting running back  Matt Forte averaged 4.4 yards per carry and had only one rushing touchdown.

The Bears know that a strong offensive line is the only way to protect the quarterback and former lineman turned radio personality Tom Thayer thinks that this year’s Bears squad may just be able to turn the corner.

“This is probably the most excited I have been about the growth potential for this team because of what the coach is going to bring to the table that is different,” Thayer said recently.

The Bears open the season against the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday September 8, 2013 at 1 PM  Tickets are still available.
