Bears drop opener to Packers

The Chicago Bears were hoping to bring new Head Coach John Fox a season opening victory but were not prepared for the Aaron Rodgers/James Jones connection to be back intact so quickly.  Rodgers hit Jones for four passes for 51 yards and two touchdowns to help defeat the Bears 31-23.

“Green Bay is a pretty good football team,” Fox said. “We were going to have to be near flawless to beat them and we didn’t quite reach that. I think there was a lot of positive things that we’ll be able to build on as a football team moving forward as we get ready for Arizona.”

The Arizona Cardinals beat up on the Saints 31-17 last weekend and will prove a formidable opponent for the Bears.  You can be there live!  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so be sure to get yours today!

Bears bad luck continues

Last season, after a dismal 5-11 season, all focus for the Chicago Bears franchise was put into rebuilding and drafting good players to help get you back to being a formidable opponent.   They did just that and drafted West Virginia Wide Receiver Kevin White with the 7th overall selection.  After suffering a stress fracture in his left shin, White may have to undergo surgery that will keep him out for the season if not much longer.

“It gives other guys opportunities,” Bears head coach John Fox said, per ESPN’s Jeff Dickerson. “We’ll have a next-man up approach whether it’s here, in the season, or in the postseason. You keep 53 men on the roster and you keep them for a reason, because you think they can play. It’s an opportunity for guys to step up. We’ll always look to improve our roster. That will not change. We’ll see who steps up.”

White still on PUP

Rookie receiver Kevin White is still on the Unable to Perform list and head coach John Fox seems quite unsure just when White will be able to take the field.

“I’m looking at it day-to-day. I can’t predict,” Fox said. “Sooner rather than later is what I hope, but that’s just a hope.”

There is wild speculation as to just how White became injured and the team is remaining vague on the subject.  White, who started camp as day to day, has been a no-go ever since.  One big question is how this will affect week one.

“It’s all an issue — teaching these things is an issue. However I feel on the finish of the day, I favor him to be on the market. However I’ve seen guys miss time and have the seasons of their life. So I’m going to attempt to outline him. He’ll get an opportunity to try this himself.”
