Ex Lion Bell added to Bears roster
The Chicago Bears (0-3, not only got thrashed by the Dallas Cowboys but they also suffered a loss at their thin running back position, losing starting RB Jeremy Langford with a high ankle sprain. He is expected to be out four to six weeks. So the Bears went out and inked former Detroit Lions (1-2, third NFC North) RB Joique Bell to help fill in. Now the Bears face those same Lions.
“Joique’s a good guy,” Lions Safety Glover Quin said. “Obviously we know who he is, familiar for us. His running style is familiar. How much he can pick up on in a couple days, who knows? If he gets in the game, we got to treat him just like he’s a Chicago Bear. He’s not a friend during the game. He’s a Chicago Bear and we’re trying to take him out.”
Bell was the Lions’ second leading rusher with 311 yards and four touchdowns on 90 carries. In his four years with the Lions he rushed for 2,235 yards and 22 touchdowns on 561 carries and caught 161 passes for 1,640 yards and a score.

Starters expected to play extended minutes
The Chicago Bears will use their third preseason outing against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs to iron out final wrinkles in their offense but will have to do so without offensive lineman Kyle Long for a few more weeks it seems…the coaching staff have been less than transparent on Long’s return.
“It doesn’t really matter what I think,” Head Coach John Fox said. “There are medical people involved and when he’s cleared, he’ll play.”
The team has him listed as probable for tomorrows game against the Chiefs, who plan on playing their starters possibly into the third quarter.
“That’s kind of the way people do it around the league and that’s how we do it here,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “We’re going to keep knocking the rust off and getting ourselves game ready.”
The Chiefs are listing both LB Tamba Hali and QB Tyler Bray as questionable while the Bears are listing linebackers Leonard Floyd and Danny Trevathan, DL Cornelius Washington, RB Jeremy Langford and Long as probable.

Other injuries include WR Alshon Jeffrey (hamstring), WR Eddie Royal (concussion), TE Zach Miller (concussion), RG Ryan Long (calf strain).
