“There were some plays you wish you could have back,” Jets coach Rex Ryan said after the game.

Allen out to prove naysayers wrong

Newly signed Defensive End Jared Allen has to his new team as well as his former team, the Minnesota Vikings.  Allen inked a 4-year $32 Million contract with the Bears last week and showed the confidence that he has always shown.

“My play speaks for itself,” Allen said. “The way I finished the year I think spoke loud and clear.”

Allen, who is now a full year removed from shoulder surgery, says he is in top shape and had a self confessed “glitch” in his technique towards the end of the 2013 season.  Still he finished with 52 tackles and 11 sacks and while he could have signed with any number of teams, he went to work trying to figure out the best fit for his game.

“I wanted to make sure that A, they had a quarterback, because if you have a quarterback, you have a chance. B, it had to be scheme or system that I fit into, and C, I wanted to be … believing in the system and believing in the staff that I’m playing for, and really being on the same page philosophically about what they’re trying to accomplish.”

The Bears continue to prepare for the 2014  preseason.
